Son Ahlers: Then he may have to go to a mental health facility for some time.
Jammie Taddei: He isn't going to recover from something like that. He needs to be locked up where he can't harm anyone else. Think about his victims. So they use mannequins in child porn? Either you're a troll or a severely deranged human being. You raised a child molester, deal with it.
Sunshine Holets: No. Our prisons are full of people with mental health issues who have committed crimes. We need to enter into an age of enlightenment and stop criminalizing mistakes. Instead we need to help these people rather than lock them away. Child porn is rampant right now. Not only does the FBI plant photos of 17 year old children on the internet to entrap people but, every teen with a cell phone is taking nude selfies and sending them to friends. That is production of, distribution of and possession of child porn. A friend kept photos of his GF when they were teens. Most DA's wouldn't! care if teens were distributing child porn of themselves but when he turned 20 and didn't delete them, someone found them on his phone and he is now a homeless sex offender. Marshall Gaudet of Saratoga NY was not a registered sex offender but that didn't stop him from making a fake Facebook page posing as a teen boy luring teen girls to send him nude photos then blackmailing them for sex. The registry makes us less safe because we are looking at the monster we know and not the one we don't. It is sad that in the eyes our our hateful society, your son is considered as much a monster as Marshall....Show more
Carlee Tangaro: If you can get a neurophysiologist to state the MRI findings show cause for his behavior then it will be treated as a mental illness.
Danyell Rowback: Sex offenders don't recover. If your son is that deeply afflicted with mental illness, you should have institutionalized him long ago.If he is savvy enough to navigate through the internet to! prey on kids, he's not that deeply afflicted in my opinion. He! will have to register as a sex offender. Exactly what he is. Accept it and stop making excuses for his inexcusable behavior....Show more
Pearlie Medora: Your son needs a lawyer and a good one. And yes the legal system does take mental disorders into account. WHat you will have to prove is that he didn't know because of his condition what he was doing was wrong. Hence the need for a good lawyer.
