Sprang cleaned or sprung cleaned or spring cleaned the rooms yesterday?

Estrella Northway: confusing situation. do a search in bing and yahoo. this can assist!

Nell Dipiero: I think it would be Spring Cleaned, because it is Springtime when you do it, and sprang, nor sprung is not the past tense for springtime.

Darwin Ecton: "Spring Cleaning" was what they used to do when houses were closed up all winter long heated by just wood burning stoves and the soot would coat the walls so on the first warm days of the year all furniture and bedding would be taken out to air and all walls would be scrubbed clean. Merlin Fleischhacker: How about, "I did my Spring Cleaning, yesterday".

Alisia Sutphen: I would say:I WAS spring cleaning....that way you don'! t have to change the tense of the word itself.

Gregg Hagge: I sprang into the room quickly sprung around & spring cleaned the the carpets. Past tense.

Ervin Overbee: spring cleaned. Spring is the adverb in this case (telling you what kind of cleaning you did), so you don't have to modify it. You do need to modify the verb though (clean) and make it past tense.Another example of this would be power nap. You wouldn't say "I powered napped yesterda". You would simply say " I power napped yesterday."...Show more
