Would you put a table in your laundry room if you had the space?

Dewey Heersink: I have had two laundry rooms with counters and tables in them in two different homes I owned. Personally they are not the way for me to go..I tend to leave unmatched socks there, then I would leave the mending there and it got worse from there. It ended up to be a catch all in both of these rooms.When building a custom home, I decided on main floor laundry that was contained in a closet in my kitchen...I will not leave a mess or clothing around because I don't want that in my kitchen. It is right outside my bedroom and only one floor away for my daughters laundry...works perfect for me and I have loved this decision for the last five years. You know your habits..if you are a neat person and will keep picked up and tidy, then put a table in..if you are a bit of a procrastinator..don't do it. Gertrude Darke: With kids around, they are going to place items on the table for sure. On the other hand, I r! eally like being able to remove items from the dryer and folding them right away. I guess the solution would be to enforce the idea that you don't want random things left on the table. If they won't comply, you could always hide them. When they get tired of hunting for their stuff they'll probably come around.

Arnette Dominici: I smell what you are stepping in and NO I do NOT fold or stay in my laundry room for more than it takes to remove the clothes from the room. reason being is i think its too hot/boring/dusty/monotonous/enclosed to stay in there.I like to remove the clothes and old them in a large airy room while i listen to music or watch TV.I put a fold away table in my room. you know the kind that you can fold into the wall to make space. also I like to think of the laundry room as the room to do the laundry becasue its dirty not the room to find the laundry because its clean.make sence?if not i mean that the day comes that you wlill end up leaving the laundry! half done and if ts mixed in same room with dirty stuff you w! ill have to figure out whats clean and whats not...too much brain power i like to spend my brain power on gardening and things NOT laundry.hope this helps....Show more
