pay rates- hardware worker 30yrs old?

Clemmie Burkleo: Whatever they offered you 3 to 4 years ago. If you feel not making enough, then go to another hardware store and apply for employment and ask for more than you are making now. Unless if you are in a union, there is no specific pay rate that you should be paid other than minimum wage. Curt Broadhead: They are entitled to either (a) the federal minimum wage, (b) the state minimum wage, or (c) the amount that the hardware store agreed to pay, whichever of these is largest. The minimum wages are the same for any adult, in any occupation, with any amount of experience or inexperience. Unless the hardware store agreed to pay him more because of his experience or duties, then he is entitled to the same amount as if he had been there only ! 20 minutes or if he was working as a cashier in a fast food place....Show more
