Rheba Cockman: I saw my late father played Contract Bridge from my childhood and I had no idea how top play and why his friends were so crazy to come to our house to be able to play this card game. This I am talking about 1960s time and we were living in Karachi. Then in 1970 when I went to hostel of PSTC in Karachi where 50% trainees were from West Pakistan and 50% were from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). I was taken from EP quota and saw that trainees from EP were hooked on with a card game known as "29". My first taste of 29 was like an addiction. Then we were introduced Auction-bridge card-game and that overtook the frenzy of playing 29.In mid-1970s when I went to Iranian Air Force as a civilian and got some 30+ Bangladeshi compatriots (of my father's age) who would play Contract-bridge and I learned the game. Then Auction-bridge became a history. If you have ever played Contract-bridge then you would know why people would bet their life on card-game...lol! Too much a! ddictive and requires exceptional memory and alertness. In fine, I would suggest that you try first Black-jack and then 29 and slowly progress to Auction-bridge and then Contract-bridge. Pls do not blame me if you do not get enough time to rest or exercise or do usual chores since the addiction may take away your quality-time. Enjoy the card games and keep away from the internet, as far as possible.Have a nice holiday in Bangladesh....Show more
Patrica Loertscher: The card games you can play is : Poker, war, slapjack, blackjack.
Libby Berkovitch: My favorite is called 7. My grandfather taught it to me. You take two decks of cards and shuffle. Each person gets 7 cards. (Best to play with 3 or more.) A card is drawn from the top of the deck. On your turn you can pick it up, or draw two. If you have a seven in your hand, lay it down. If not,you can lay down 3 of a kind, or a run of 3 cards, e.g. 4,5,6 of clubs. If someone else has laid down you can play on thiers. e.g.! if they have three jacks, you can lay your jack on the pile. ! After your turn, discard one. The point of the game is to use all of your cards and "go out". Once your "out" each player has one more turn to use thier cards. At the end, add up all the points:Ace -12-23-34-45-56-67-78-89-910-10Jack king queen - 10 pts.Play seven rounds and the winner will have the lowest score.Other card games:Go Fish!BS (in my family we say bologna)KIMSPORCOWarSolitareHope this helps!
